Gridfinity finally made it to the kitchen. I printed The Next Layer’s complete kitchen collection — bins for forks, knives, spoons, chopsticks, straws, and the kids’ cutlery — and it’s one of those projects that makes you wonder why you waited so long.

The Build

Printed on the Bambu Lab P1S. The collection is big, so this was a multi-session print job. The designs are chunky by intention — thick walls to handle the daily abuse of being yanked out of a drawer by a seven-year-old — and that shows in print time, but also in how solid everything feels.

One gap in the collection: no knife tray with a 2x6 footprint and no internal divider. The existing knife bins didn’t fit my drawer layout, so I remixed my own in OnShape. It’ll go up on Printables once it’s cleaned up and shared.

Result

The drawer that used to be an archaeological dig for the right spatula now makes sense. Everything has a place, the finger slides line up, and the modular blanks fill the gaps cleanly. The knife tray remix works exactly as needed.
